Donna Ruth Hubbard, 91, of Red Wing, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park, where she had been only a short time. She was born June 2, 1916 in Red Wing to Irving and Minnie (Peters) Hennings. She attended school through the 10th grade and left to help her father on the family farm, Hill Top Dairy. She married Lloyd Hubbard on December 7, 1935 in Red Wing. She had worked at Stevenson's Clothing Store and at Riedell Shoe Company. She and Lloyd were married over 65 years, when he died on February 18, 2001. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. In addition to attending church, she also enjoyed visiting with family and friends, watching the Minnesota Twins on t.v., as well as watching news and politics. She also liked going out to eat, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Juleanne (Larry) VonBargen of Red Wing; two grandchildren, John Simanski, Jr. of North St. Paul and Jodie (David) Chaves of Woodbury; great-granddaughter, Katie Otten of Woodbury; step-grandchildren, Todd (Kelly) VonBargen of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Tracey (Kim) VonBargen of Alexandria, Gina Schorn (Guy Halverson) of Fridley, and Tim VonBargen of Mpls.; ten step-great-grandchildren, Andy Chaves, Aaron, Eric, Ben, Midori and Hakyma Von Bargen, Zachary Stewert, Allysa Schorn, Kira and Stefon Halverson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Gladys Carlson; brothers, Ralph and Gerald Hennings and an infant sister, Cecil.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 15 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be for 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
