Donna Margaret Hasselblad, 96, of Red Wing, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born June 29, 1910 in Lake City to William and Clara (Stahlann) Diepenbrock. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School and attended one year of Normal School and taught for at school districts in Hay Creek and Featherstone. On December 15, 1936 she married Arnold Hasselblad in St. Paul. They farmed in Welch. She was a member of the Cross of Christ Church and its women?s circle and had been a past Sunday school teacher; she was also a member of the Red Wing Historical Society. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She is survived by one son, William (Sandra) Hasselblad of Welch; one daughter, Elaine (Lon) Peterson of Willmar; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Grover Diepenbrock and a sister, Francis Bornman. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Cross of Christ Church in Welch with Reverend Bob Albing officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gregory Hasselblad, John Sachen, Randy Beck, Dick Burt, Steve Gustafson and Allen Weberg. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Beck, Wendy Laws, Alyssa Peterson, Robert Sachen and Christopher Sachen. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
