Donna Mae Brudeseth

Donna Mae Brudeseth, age 93, of Red Wing, took the Lord's hand and He guided her home on Thursday, October 1, 2015. Donna was born to Amandus August and Edna (Huneke) Gerken on January 5, 1922 in Red Wing, MN. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1940. She married Arthur John Kutschied on November 13, 1943. While he was in the US Marine Corps, they lived in Santa Barbara and El Centro, California. After WWII, they moved back to Red Wing, where they raised their family of four boys. Donna later married Jerry David Brudeseth, also of Red Wing. The love of her life was her children, grandchildren, and her church. She was a dedicated worker at St. John's Lutheran Church and sang in the choir. Her favorite singing was done at funerals. She will be deeply missed by all she left behind, but joyously received by all who were waiting to welcome her home in heaven. Enjoy your reunion mom; you have been waiting for it for a long time!
Donna is survived by her four sons, Arthur (Jean), Thomas, Kelly (Shelley), and Pete (Diane) Kutschied; eight grandchildren, Charles Carter, Tricia Diane (Kutschied) Hayes, and John, Rebecca, Ryan, Tyler, Benjamin, and Daniel Kutschied; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; stepmother, Hilda (Green) Gerken; brother, Bobbie Leon Gerken; and her parents
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Peter Sternberg officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 4 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
