Donald R. Seymour, Sr. entered eternal life on February 20, 2016 at his home. He was born on May 2, 1934 in Red Wing, MN to Leonard and Vivian (Howard) Seymour. He grew up in Bay City, WI. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1954. He then married Geraldine Goulette in 1955 and took her on a dance that would last 60 years. Don worked with the Army Corps of Engineers for 36 years on Dredge Thomson retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54 and the Red Men Club. He and Geraldine traveled a great deal after his retirement and wintered in Rock Port, Texas. He loved spending time at Staples Lake where he rarely missed a day out on his pontoon. He loved to fish and caught more than his fair share of them. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his wife, Geraldine; two children, Roger (Patti) Seymour of Hager City and Wendy (Rick) Seymour of Hager City; seven grandchildren, Trisha, Vanessa (Tony), Mandy (Jason), Keegan (Kat), Kayla, Annaleise (Chris) and Seth (Chelsea); nine great-grandchildren, Danielle, Kailey, Eve, Payton, Madison, Edyn, Alyvia, Aubrynn, and Adela. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy; one grandson, Zachariah; one brother, Leonard and one sister Betty O'Connor.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in the Bay City Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Don's honor to Red Wing Youth Outreach or Hope Coalition.
