Donald Duane Riegleman passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, at the age of 92 while residing in Jackson, Wisconsin. He was born in Farmington, Minnesota and grew up in Red Wing with his parents, Arnie and Minnie, and his sister, Darlene, all of whom he adored. In life, he was most happy with his lasting friendships and the family that surrounded him.
Don devoted his time to his family, first and foremost- loving, motivating, and leading his three boys, initially in Minnesota and later in East Troy, Wisconsin. He was an incredible grandfather ("Papa"), and it brought him immense joy to see his loved ones together. Don enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War and exemplified his dedication to America through his deep love of country and abiding patriotism. Professionally, he was a proud MSOE graduate and electrical engineer. In fact, he was so enthusiastic about his profession that he encouraged virtually everyone to follow in that very same path. Through it all, he greatly loved the Lord and generously gave time to his local church, serving as an Elder, and on occasion, would preach from the pulpit.
Don loved Jesus and John Wayne, dirty martinis and snicker bars, adventures in Arizona, and big band music. He was larger than life: dancing, joking, providing warm greetings ("who-whoo"), and gladly providing anyone he met with a nickname. He will be remembered for many things, including his love for hunting, hobby farming, watching Westerns, along with his dapper fashion style and his constant dialogue with God. Those who knew Don have stories that will outlast a lifetime.
He is survived by his three sons: Dan (Lori), John, Paul (Michelle). He is also survived by his six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Don had an unwavering faith and wished "God to you" and "peace" to everyone. Don's loved ones are assured that he is at peace with God and that God is with us, just as Don knew to be true his entire life.
