Donald Ray Richardson

Donald Ray Richardson, also known as "Dandy Don", 72, of Red Wing died August 21, 2012 at the Seminary Home in Red Wing. He was born August 30, 1939 in El Dorado, Kansas to Glenn and Alma (Mason) Richardson. He attended his schooling in El Dorado, Kansas, receiving his diploma. On May 24, 1957, Don married Linda Warren in El Dorado. Shortly after their marriage, Don joined the Navy where he remained until 1965 when Don began working in sales. In 1971, the couple moved to Big Stone City, South Dakota where they lived on a hobby farm. Don worked in Ortonville, Minnesota at KDIO for 20 years before moving to Red Wing. The couple moved to Red Wing in 1992 where Don began working for Sorenson Broadcasting. He continued to work for Sorenson's for the next 11 years. Don was an active member of the Red Wing Chamber of Commerce and held many different positions at his church, Hiawatha Valley Baptist Church.

Don is survived by his wife Linda Richardson; children, Marcie (Allen) Homan of Auburn, PA, Mary (Gary) Henneberg of Holloway, Silas Richardson of Red Wing, David (Sharlene) Richardson of Montevideo; three sisters, Sue (Mike) Fox, Glenda (Willie) Skinner and Margaret (Rick) Austin all of Florida; sister-in-law, Mary (Charles) Emory of Virginia Beach, VA; brother-in-law, Dan (Helen) Warren of Wichita, KS; eight grandchildren, Jason, Shayne, Melissa, Josiah, Daniel, Eric, Robbie, and Zoey; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two in-laws, Joe and Billie Warren.

Memorial Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Hiawatha Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Chuck Friemel officiating. Memorials are preferred to Red Wing Hospice and Hiawatha Valley Baptist Church.
