Donald Robert Miller, 71, of Red Wing, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Red Wing Health Center. He was born May 30, 1938 in Northland, Iowa to Daniel and Dorothy (Hahn) Miller and attended schools in Iowa. He served in the US Navy from October 12, 1955-March 30, 1956. He married LoAnne Nelson and they later divorced. On February 15, 1975, he married Colleen Hughes and they own and operate Miller's Dog Grooming. Don loved to work with his hands, fixing things and working on cars. He loved to make people laugh and give everyone a hard time! He had many friends during his lifetime and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen of Red Wing; children, Donna (Ted) Christianson, Robert "Bob" Miller, Darcy Miller, Donald Miller, Jr. all of Michigan; Holly (Mike) McMullen of Red Wing, Melissa Miller of Red Wing and Josh (Amy) Banyai of Glenwood City, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
A visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. A small gathering following the visitation will be held at his home at 29296 Hwy 58 Blvd. All are welcome. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
