Donald J. Kulseth, 71, of Lake City passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at home after a brief illness. He was born in Windom, MN on December 9, 1945 to Johan and Ila (Larson) Kulseth.
Donald graduated from Windom High School in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served from 1964 to 1971, completing three tours in Vietnam. On September 13, 1971, he married Linda (Hart) Johnson in Warner Robbins, Georgia. He worked as an independent truck driver in Rosemount, MN for many years. They moved to Lake City in 1986 where he worked for Bud Meyer Trucking, retiring in 2010. He was a past Commander of the American Legion Post #65 in Rosemount and a proud member of the Association of Independent Riders (AIR).
Donald is survived by his two daughters, Dawn (Robert) Wilkins of Brooklyn Park, and Corrine (Pete) Stockwell of Lake City; two sons, Steve (Marie) Johnson of Loganville, GA, and Shelby Johnson of Eau Claire, WI; eight grandchildren, Crystal, Amanda, Brian, Chris, Peter, Zackary, Arik, and Scarlett; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda (Jerry) Knutson of Deerwood, MN and Marie (Jim) Wheelock of St. Cloud, MN; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda, and parents.
A funeral service will be Monday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Tim Ehling officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.
