Donald Douglas Jennings, 83, of Red Wing, died Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Red Wing Health Center. He was born January 4, 1934, in Trenton Township., Wisconsin, to William and Olive (Crowther) Jennings and grew up in the Trimbelle Township area. He enlisted in the US Army in 1956, serving until he was honorably discharged in September of 1957. He was united in marriage to Arlene Meyers and they made their home in Red Wing. Donald worked for Red Wing Sewer Pipe Company and Rivera Cabinets, where he worked until his retirement. He had belonged to First Baptist Church, Hiawatha Valley Baptist and Cornerstone Community Church, as well as the Red Men Club. He loved to go boating and fishing and had enjoyed going hunting up north in International Falls with his buddies.
He is survived by his son, Timothy Jennings of Red Wing; a grandson, Aaron Jennings of Red Wing; 4 siblings, Doris (Kerm) Clifford of Maiden Rock, Wis., Paul (Lavonne) Jennings of Red Wing, Daniel (Nancy) Jennings of Goodhue and Ronald Jennings of Cottage Grove and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene in 2013; and 5 siblings, Deliela, David, Edward, Isabell and Irma.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Hiawatha Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Friemel officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
