Donald Thomas Fick, age 88, of Red Wing, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Fairview Seminary Home. He was born February 5, 1918, in Red Wing, the son of Alfred and Mabel (Borst) Fick. He was a 1936 graduate of Lincoln High School in Lake City. He served in the U.S. Army from June 18, 1941, to September 27, 1945, with the 3rd Armored Division in the European Theatre. He married Marian Langeness on December 3, 1942, in Minneapolis. He worked as a salesman for Pittsburgh Plate Glass, The Glidden Company and Rockkote Paint Company; and also as a professional musician. In 1971, he was ordained as a deacon of the Episcopalian Church in St. Patrick?s Episcopal Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. They moved back to Red Wing in 1986, where he was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54. Marian died on February 9, 2003. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Langeness; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert; and one sister, Evelyn Peterson. Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, with Charles Uhlik officiating.
