OBITUARY: Don Webster

Funeral services for Don Webster will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the first Congregational United Church of Christ in Zumbrota with Reverend Gary Titusdahl officiating. Burial will follow at the Zumbrota Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to Seasons Hospice in Rochester or the First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Don, age 79, of Zumbrota, died on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. He was born Donald Robert Webster on May 24, 1928 at Jackson, MN to Ralph and Alma (Waswo) Webster. He attended school and graduated from Jackson High School. He worked in the livestock trucking business and became an auctioneer. Don was the co-owner of the Jackson Livestock Exchange and D & J Transfer, both in Jackson. He joined the National Guard in 1951 and was activated. On July 18, 1956 he married Patricia Hepp in Jackson. They moved to Zumbrota in 1964 where they purchased the Zumbrota Livestock Auction Market, Inc. They sold the business in 2003 and he remained active in the cattle business until the time of his death. Don was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and he enjoyed spending time at "Cowboy Haven" in Hayward, WI and with his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Pat, and his two sons: Tom (Barb) and Gerry (Rox), all of Zumbrota; one daughter, Ann (Paul) Allen, of Rochester; six granddaughters: Erika, Amanda, Madeline, Olivia, Grace and Bridget; one grandson, Colton; one sister, Rhonda (Floyd) Chrestiansen, of Esterville, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Alma and one brother, Ken Webster.

Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Friday, February 22, 2008 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
