Dolores M. Beck

Dolores M. Beck age 81 of Lake City passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at her home.
Dolores was born March 11, 1929 in Zumbro Falls to Richard & Irene (Wiebusch) Henn. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. She then graduated from Cannon Falls Teachers Training and taught in the Lake City area. She married James M. Beck on October 27, 1948 at Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Lake City area until 1988 when they moved to Lake City. Dolores worked at Zero King and Lake City Nursing Home. She also worked for Jim Whiting Nursery in Lake City for 20 years. James passed away on August 10, 1992. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and St. John's Alter Guild. Dolores loved gardening and farming. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
Dolores is survived by three sons, James (Kathy) Beck of Lake City, Richard and Mark Beck of Lake City; two daughters Judith (Brad) Ellison of Lake City, Kim (Dale) Wood of Lake City; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two brothers Emery Henn of Lake City, Dallas (Gloria) Henn of Zumbro Falls; three sisters, Lois Grobe of Pine Island, Elaine Folkert of Rochesterand Jean Henn of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Joseph, two brothers, Edwin, Richard Henn Jr. and a sister, Esther Pretzer.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Daniel Kroll officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lake City. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the services at the church.
