Dolores Lorraine Barnsdorf, 84, of Red Wing, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Mayo Health System in Red Wing. She was born on December 28, 1930, in Spring Valley, Wisconsin, to Earl and Theresa (Spot) Jewell. Her family lived in Spooner, Siren and River Falls, Wisconsin where she attended schools. She attended high school in Seattle and Port Angeles, Washington graduating 1946. Following graduation she returned to Wisconsin and worked as a nurses' aid in Plum City. On July 16, 1949 she married Richard Barnsdorf. They lived in Red Wing where she worked for City Hospital and later St. John's Hospital in the Lab before retiring. Richard died on August 8, 2014. She enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming and going to their cabin with family in Hayward, Wisconsin.
Survivors include three daughters, Sue (Tom) Robinson, Patricia Donaldson, and Chris (Terry) Peterson all of Red Wing; six grandchildren, Trisha Robinson, Angela LaManna, Jesse Donaldson, Richard Kahl, Mandy Kahl and Terry Peterson, Jr.; nine great grandchildren, Grace, Sullivan, Taylor, Sammy, Ryver, Izzak, Porter, Zachary and Kalie Rae. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Helen Benoy; two half-sisters, Lorraine and Ina and one half-brother, Harold.
A private family service will be held with burial in the Maiden Rock Cemetery. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
