Diane Kay Lunder, 78, of Red Wing, died Monday, October 14, 2024 at Deer Crest Senior Living under the care of St. Croix Hospice. She was born on April 6, 1946, in Red Wing to Lloyd and Jean (Erickson) Martenson. She grew up on a dairy farm in Vasa, MN and attended school in Vasa, graduating from Cannon Falls High School in 1964. She attended Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis and graduated in 1967. On March 23, 1968, she was united in marriage to Karl Lunder and they had three children, Eric, Matthew and Rachel. She enjoyed time spent with her family especially with her 10 grandchildren, she was active in the churches that Karl served as pastor and at United Lutheran Church where she was a member. Her faith in Jesus was very important to her. She enjoyed baking, quilting, reading, traveling, flowers, gardening and entertaining.
Diane is survived by her sons, Eric (Ellen) Lunder and Matthew (Brigid) Lunder; daughter, Rachel (Jeff) Stenerson, 10 grandchildren, Leo, Ethan, Maria, Samuel, Elijah, and Abigail Lunder, Luke and Anthony Johnson and Jarrett and Jacey Stenerson and one brother, Duane Martenson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl on March 12, 2016, and her parents, Lloyd and Jean.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October19, 2024, at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Brian Scott officiating. Burial will be at the Vasa Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Hope Coalition or the Care Clinic, both in Red Wing. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
