Diana Oskey

Diana Jean Oskey, 78, of Red Wing, died on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Trinity Care Center in Farmington, MN. She was born on May 10, 1946, in Lake City, MN, to Edward and Emma (Mickow) Schacht and graduated from Lake City High School in 1964 and attended some classes at Mankato State.

In 1965, she married Kenneth R. Cady in Lake City and they raised their family in Red Wing. They later divorced and in 1990, Diana married Jeff L. Oskey, who preceded her in death.

Diana started her career in banking at Goodhue County National Bank. After raising her family and running an in-home daycare for several years, she returned to the banking industry, eventually retiring as a branch manager at Hiawatha National Bank in Hager City, WI. After her tenure at Hiawatha National Bank, she worked at Edward Jones in Hastings, MN for several years before retirement.

Diana had a passion for life and a competitive spirit—whether she was playing cards, hitting the golf course, or tending to her garden. She also loved her pets, traveling, sewing and quilting, boating, and cherished the time she spent with family and friends.

She is survived by daughters, Rachael (Margaret Braet) Cady, Angela (Jason) Freedman, and Bethany (Andre) Carter; daughter-in-law, Nicole Cady; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Aysha, Leo, Quincy, Rowan, and Makenna; and a special caregiver and friend, Brandie Davis. She also leaves behind brothers, Ronald (Jana) Schacht and Howard (Barb) Schacht, along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff; her parents; her son, Brian; grandson, Mitchell Cady and three children who passed in infancy, Julie, Joseph, and Sarah; sister, Shirley Simpson; and brothers, Wayne and Gordon Schacht; bother-in-law Ken Underbakke; sister-in-law Eunice (Goihl) Schacht, and parents-in-law Warren and Beth Oskey.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel located at 602 Plum St, Red Wing, MN 55066. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Lake City following a brief graveside service.
