DeWayne Dressen

DeWayne Joseph Dressen, 77, Red Wing, died Tuesday at Angels Care Center, Cannon Falls, Minnesota where he has resided for the past two years. He was born May 9, 1930 in Marshfield Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota, the son of Leo J. and Josephine (Krier) Dressen. He attended Hay Creek schools. He married Elda Reese at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on November 5, 1955. He farmed in Hay Creek for many years until 1977, he owned and operated Hay Creek Lime Service and worked at Northern States Power Company Steam Plant until retiring in October 1990. Elda died April 13, 2003. He was a member of Church of Saint Joseph, Goodhue Lions, Snowmobile Clubs and bowling leagues. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing snowmobiling and he was very mechanically minded, especially making his own farm equipment.

Survivors include three sons, Marlin (Deb Busby) Dressen of Hay Creek, Dale and David (Jodi) Dressen, all of Goodhue; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Dressen of Red Wing; one sister, Rosella "Curly" Dressen of Red Wing; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, Leo, Jr. and one sister, Arlene Bustad.

Funeral will be 11 a. m. Saturday at Church of Saint Joseph with Father Thomas Kommers presiding. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John, Jim, Joshua, Dillon and Paul Dressen and Steven Bustad. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Chapel at Angels Care Center or the Alzheimer's Association.
