Derek Jason Skordahl, 36, of Goodhue, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born November 26, 1971 in Red Wing to David and Yvonne (Wichser) Skordahl. He attended Sunnyside and Twin Bluff Jr. High and graduated from Red Wing Central High in 1990. He worked at Super Valu and DBI Capital Safety. He moved to Bloomington, Illinois and married Daisy Braden and they later divorced. He was a member of United Lutheran Church and he enjoyed playing darts, sportsâ€âespecially NASCAR, dogs and his Rottweiler's, Ivy and Thor.
He is survived by his parents of Red Wing; brother, Lonnie Skordahl of Goodhue; aunts and uncles, Bernard Wichser of Cannon Falls, Donna Broin of Inver Grove Heights, Delbert (Ann) Wichser of Texas, Ronald Wichser of Cannon Falls, Terry (Gail) Wichser of Colorado and Al Skordahl of Bay City and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Randall Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church.
