Dennis Lynn Johnson, 69, of Red Wing, died peacefully Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on October 13, 1946 in Red Wing to Roy and Hazel (Kullander) Johnson. He graduated in 1964 from Red Wing Central High School. He continued his education earning a business administration and economics degree in 1968 and in 1975 received his master's degree in counseling all from University of Wisconsin River Falls. On July 17, 1982 he married Kim Barden. He worked for the Red Wing Training School for a few years and then Joe's Mobil where everyone knew him as "Ruke". He enjoyed all the people he worked with and enjoyed meeting people on a daily basis.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; one brother, Bruce (Char) of Brooklyn Park; one nephew, Tim (Yvonne) Johnson of Gilbert Ariz.; cousins, Kathy (Bill) Ells of LaCrosse, Wis., Ruth (John) Blodgett of Rockford, Minn., John (Judy) Kullander of Brunswick, Ohio and Keith (Lynn) Hansen of Waconia, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, James Johnson.
A private family service was held. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
