Deloris Mae Meyer, 72, of Red Wing died on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Lake City Care Center. She was born on November 12, 1944 in Red Wing to Ray and Martha (Hayes) Wheeler. She attended schools in Maiden Rock and graduated from Ellsworth High School. She worked for several years at Ted's Café. She married John Meyer on August 10, 1963. Deloris worked at Riviera Cabinets for a few years and then as a nursing assistant at the Red Wing Nursing Home and the Lake City Care Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Deloris enjoyed playing cards and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother that had a deep love and devotion to her family and friends.
Deloris is survived by her husband, John; son Dale (Michelle) Meyer of Red Wing; three grandchildren, D. J., Ray and Samantha Meyer all of Red Wing; brother in law Kenneth DeLong of Elmwood, Wisc.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Doris DeLong.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Clay Oglesbee officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5p.m.-7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Bodelson Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
