Delores Hygnstrom

Delores Rose Marie Hygnstrom, 94, of Maiden Rock, died Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Spring Valley, Wisconsin. She was born April 12, 1925, in Red Wing, to Richard and Dena (Hegseth) Simonson. She was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church and was a graduate of Red Wing Central High, class of 1943. On July 13, 1957, she was united in marriage to Edward Hygnstrom at United Lutheran Church. She worked at Dr. Haustine's Optometry Office and was a bookkeeper at the Farmers Store. Delores was mainly a homemaker and she dedicated her life to caring for their daughter, Dawn, who was born with special needs. A life-long member of United Lutheran Church, she also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, making lefse and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband, Edward of Maiden Rock; son, Scott (Jan) Hygnstrom of Stevens Point, WI; daughter, Dawn Hygnstrom, residing at Spring Valley Care Center and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Berdella and Jeanette and 1 brother, Luverne "Bud" Simonson.
