Delores "De" LaRayne Callstrom

Delores "De" LaRayne Callstrom, age 89 of Red Wing, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Seminary Home. She was born on June 27, 1924 in Cannon Falls to Clarence and Mabel (Peterson) Johnson. She was baptized on her father's birthday on July 25, 1924 and confirmed in May 1939. De was a 1942 graduate of Cannon Falls High School. On September 2, 1942 she was united in marriage to Morris R. Callstrom. They owned and operated Tea House Antiques for many years. Morris died on January 21, 2002. In addition to being a loving mother and wife, De was a very active member of the community. Over the years she was a member at First Lutheran Church including many hours of service with the church women's group, the Red Wing Collector's Society, the Goodhue County History Center, the Woman's Study Club, the American Swedish Institute, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Mayo Legacy, Gustavus Heritage Partners, and Red Wing Area Seniors.
De is survived by her daughter, Karen (Arnie) Strusz of Red Wing; two grandchildren, Kari (Kevin) Wartick of Lakeville and Nicole (Bill) Mueller of Northfield; four great-grandchildren, McCabe and Laken Wartick and Molly and Macy Mueller; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris; sister, Marian Benson.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Pastors Brian Scott and Jeremy Nausin officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
