ROCHESTER - Deborah "Debbie" Briggs, age 62, of Rochester, died Friday December 23, 2016 at the Grand Meadow Nursing Home.
Deborah Kay Hodge was born April 4, 1954 in Rochester to Roy and Mary (Olson) Hodge. She was raised in Rochester and attended Rochester Schools. She married John Hatch, they were later divorced. Debbie married Gary Briggs on August 22, 1986 at the Salvation Army Church in Rochester, he survives. Debbie was a longtime cook and waitress for various restaurants in the Rochester area. She enjoyed sewing, macramé, gardening, bingo, and trips to Treasure Island.
Survivors include her husband Gary, daughters Jennifer (Kenneth Still) Hatch, and Jami (Marcus) Arnold, both of Rochester; sons Troy, and Jeremy Hatch, both of Rochester; step-daughters Christina (Brandon) Atkinson of Hayfield, MN, and Barbara Briggs of Rochester; her step-son Gary (Camara) Briggs, Jr. of Kalispell, MT; seventeen grandchildren, and her sister Cecilia (Dave) Johnson of Leroy, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel with Rev. Lester J. Horntvedt officiating. Debbie will be cremated following the funeral service. Friends may call one hour before the service on Wednesday, and a reception will be held following the service.
