Dawn LaRae Ulvenes

Dawn LaRae Ulvenes, 73, of Red Wing, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 23, 1942 to Casper and Florence (Haase) Logan in Rochester. After her parents died, Dawn was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mildred and Raymond Trautner. She grew up and attended school in Red Wing, graduating from Red Wing Central High in 1960. She went on to attend St. Mary's nurses' training in Minneapolis. On November 2, 1963 she married Tim Ulvenes. She worked as an RN at the City Hospital and at St. John's Hospital before retiring in 2002. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting, gardening, golfing and going on cruises.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Tim; two children, Gregg Ulvenes and LaRae Ulvenes, both of Red Wing; four grandchildren; Bump, Brandon, Jorgen and Blake; and one brother, Louie Logan of Red Wing. She is preceded in death by her parents; her guardian aunt and uncle, Mildred and Raymond Trautner and one grandson, David.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Karl Rydholm officiating. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at church.
