David Allen Schimek

David Allen Schimek of Zumbrota, passed away Sunday, August, 18, 2019. David was born in Albert Lea, MN to Francis "Bud" and Elizabeth "Betty" (Barrie) Schimek. As a child he attended elementary school in Mazeppa and graduated from high school in Pine Island in 1979.
In 1981, David married Susan Kundert and they were blessed with four boys. In 1991, he married Tia Opsahl and they were blessed with a baby girl. In 2013, David married Jackie Oelkers Tutewohl. David was very proud of his five children and absolutely adored his eight grandchildren. He served on the Goodhue Fire Department for 12 years and a Goodhue Lion for 10 years. For the last 30 years David was a respected employee for Ag Partners, based out of Goodhue, yet a very humble man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Betty Schimek.
David is survived by his wife, Jackie and two step-daughters, Joey and Angie Tutewohl; four sons, Grant Schimek, Ryan (Bri) Schimek, Joseph (Lauren) Schimek, Bradley (Caitlin) Schimek; daughter, Rebecca (Jordan Kraska); grandchildren, Reagan, Jake, Quinlynn, Tenley, Harrison, Harper, Riley Mae and LeRoy; siblings Gary (Jackie) Schimek, Bill (Denise) Schimek, Tom (Nita) Schimek, Barbara Muenkel (Glenn Van Benschoten), Ron Schimek and Frank Schimek.
The memorial mass will be held Thursday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Randal Kasel officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Pine Island. Online condolences are welcome and may be shared at mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
