David was born in 1946 in Austin, MN to Gerhard and Verna Prigge. At age one, the family moved to Faribault, MN where his dad procured a position with Trinity Lutheran Church and School. Dave graduated from Faribault High School in 1964, then attended the University of Minnesota at Mankato and the University of Missouri at Columbia, eventually garnering a Masters Degree in Journalism in addition to a Doctorate in English. He found early employment during summer vacations in college as temporary editor of the newspaper in Two Harbors, MN, and later, full time work as the sports editor of the Wahpeton-Breckenridge Daily News. But his primary occupation was to become a technical writer with Cray Research in Eagan, MN. He also served his country by answering the call of the U.S. Army to fight in Long Bihn, Vietnam in the late '60's. An avid sports fan, Dave also participated in many sports, excelling in most. But more importantly, he was a good man who honored his parents, loved his children, and believed in Christ. The world is a little worse off without him. Survived by sons, Brady of Eagan, Chance of Mpls., and Josh Prigge of Eagan and one brother, Gary Prigge of St. Paul. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Charles D. Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery.
