David Keith Maxson, was born on March 31st, 1978, in Rochester, MN, and raised in the Pine Island area. He passed suddenly on June 12, 2024. He was a beacon of kindness and love. His affinity for animals and children was a testament to his gentle spirit. David's ability to engage with anyone, even metaphorically with a brick wall, showcased his exceptional communicative charm. A passionate bowler, he cherished his years rolling strikes and spares in Pine Island and Zumbrota, eagerly anticipating the state bowling tournaments.
For many years, David was a valued employee at Land O'Lakes, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed significantly to the company's community. Each fall, he dedicated himself to assisting his family with the harvest, a tradition that underscored his commitment to his roots and loved ones. David's presence at family gatherings was a source of joy and laughter; he truly was the life of the party, with a remarkable talent for finding comfort and rest anywhere.
He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and generosity, survived by his beloved wife Cathy, his son Levi, his parents Keith and Aj Maxson, and Martha Anne Flormoe. His memory will also be cherished by his siblings Michelle, Shalon, Aaron, Tabitha, Tony, and Tyler, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. David's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and service, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 21, 2024, at Zwingli United Church of Christ at Berne (23148 County Rd 24, West Concord, MN 55985), with Reverend Karen Larson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Mahler Chapel, in Pine Island, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
