David Lawrence Linder, age 65, of Bay City, Wisconsin, died Thursday, August 24, 2006, at his home. He was born on October 23, 1940, in Gilman Township, Pierce County, the son of Herman and Mildred (Frazier) Linder. He grew up near Frontenac, Minnesota, and attended schools in Red Wing. He served in the U.S. Army from August 28, 1962 to March 31, 1964. He married Karen Fritzke and they later divorced. He married Angela Hayes and they later divorced. He worked for S.B. Foot Tanning Company, the City of Red Wing, Holst Excavating and Luhman Construction. He was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post 54. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing fast pitch softball in his younger years. Survivors include four children, Gerald (Christine) Linder of Red Wing, Margaret (Jay) Irving of Alaska, Nicholas and Cynthia Linder of New Richmond, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bernard (Virginia) and Thomas of Red Wing, Bryan (Peggy) of Old Frontenac; six sisters, Rose Messetler of Red Wing, Cleo (Burt) Christianson of Red Wing, Patricia Olson of Red Wing, Lois Brown of Red Wing, Doris (Francis) Halverson of Bay City and Josephine (Denny) Gille of St. Croix Beach. Preceding him in death were five brothers, Edgar, LeRoy, Ronald, Sr., Eugene and Herman Linder. Graveside service with full military honors will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery in Red Wing with Father Bruce Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
