David Jesse Jacobsen, 81, of Red Wing, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was born on August 22, 1932 in Northfield, Minnesota to Emanuel and Ruth (Ingham) Jacobsen. He attended school and then served in the US Air Force for 22 years. On December 26, 1956 he married Catherine Tri in Lake City. Since 1974 he has resided in Red Wing. Catherine died on February 20, 1978.
Survivors include three children, Richard (Sandy) Jacobsen of Rochester, Linda Goodwin of Helena, Mont. and Patricia (Mike) Reigel of Fairmont; seven grandchildren, Katherine and Brandie Goodwin, Tim, Greg, and Chris Brunkhorst and Ryan and Cody Jacobsen; five great grandchildren, Ian, Israel, Brayden, Ashton and Harley; four brothers, Paul of Briceville, Tenn., Jerry of Hemet, Cal., Virgil of Dallas, Wis. and DeWayne (Mary) of Chetek, Wis. along with many nieces and nephews.
