David Raymond Gawarecki

David Raymond Gawarecki passed from this life on Sept 30, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN. David was born in Ivanhoe, MN on May 31, 1969 to Robert and Joan (Tykwinski) Gawarecki.

Graduating from Ivanhoe H.S. in 1987, David went to graduate from Winona State with a degree in Psychology. David served his country in the Minnesota Army National Guard.
David married Sydney Allison Lee on April 5, 2003. This union blessed David and the extended Gawarecki family with Abigail and Avery. Sorrow was experienced when David and Sydney lost their unborn child, Josiah. David lost his sweetheart when Sydney died unexpectedly in 2009.

David and Sydney enjoyed medieval themed SCA, where he earned the title "Lord Raphael Eckhart". David also enjoyed reading, computers, black-smithing and table-top board games.
We thank Karen for giving David care following his heart surgery. Special thanks to Terry for his kindness and companionship until the end.

David was preceded in death by son Josiah, wife Sydney, and father "Bob". David is survived by mother Joan, parents-in-law Karen & Dennis Lee, brother-in-law Adam, children Abigail and Avery Klingbeil, brothers John (Peg) Gawarecki, Mark (Kris) Gawarecki, Chris (Julie) Gawarecki, and Dan (Pat) Gawarecki; 17 nieces and nephews, and 15 grand nieces/nephews.
Blessed be his memory. A kind and gentle soul, he is missed already.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 - 6 pm, Thursday, Oct. 8th, 2020, weather permitting, in Meadow Park South, Stewartville, MN 55976. While the address is 2nd Ave NE, there are 2 entrances off this street, use the one that is 500 feet north of 4th Street NE. See you in the pavilion south of the hockey rink.
