Daryle Williams

Daryle Lee Williams, 49, Welch, died Thursday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester. He was born January 18, 1958 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Llewellyn and Rosalie (Murphy) Williams, Sr. He graduated from Tripoli High School in 1977. He enlisted in the US Navy, serving July 26, 1978 to July 20, 1981. He married Kristy Quass on July 19, 1985 in Waverly, Iowa. They lived in Tripoli until 1986 when they moved to Red Wing. Throughout his life he had done general farm labor and after moving to Red Wing, had worked at Treasure Island and at Wal-Mart. He enjoyed working and tinkering on cars, putting together model cars and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Kristy of Welch; two step-children, Chad Meyer of Red Wing and Cory Meyer of New Hampton, Iowa; his father, Llewellyn of Tripoli, Iowa; three siblings: Wanda (Vern) Williams-Tiedt of Dunkerton, Iowa, Lew (Sheryl) Williams of Welch and Victoria (Ernie) Hesse of Denver, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Pamela Jo Williams. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Gordon Trellstad officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p. m. Monday and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
