Darrel R. Page age 70 of rural Pine Island died suddenly on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at his residence. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Pine Island with Reverend John Torris Lohre and Reverend Kip Groettum officiating. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home � Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Darrel Ray Page was born on March 5, 1938 in Elko, MN to Harry C. and Helen R. (nee Teachout) Page. At the age of 5 his family moved to St. Charles, where he was an avid wrestler in school and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1958. Darrel was also active in Boy Scouts for many years. Darrel served in the Army Reserves. On September 6, 1974 he married Linda J. Ritter in Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home in Pine Island. He was the owner and operator of D & L Contractors. For the past twenty two years he owned and operated Page's Road Maintenance of Zumbrota. Darrel enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, building and fixing things, woodworking and tending to his sheep. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Darrel is survived by his wife, Linda, five daughters, Amy Page of Kenyon, Jody (Joe) Schroeder of Oronoco, Julie (Steve) Hammarsten of Woodbury, Katie Page of Minneapolis and Becky Page of Pine Island, two grandchildren, Grace and Thomas Schroeder, his siblings, Carolyn Rodorigo of Chicago, IL, Barry (Charlotte) Page of Yuba, WI, Robert (Anne) Page of Winona, Richard (Debbie) Page of Hammond, Barbara (Mark) Schneider of Grand Meadow and William (Peggy) Page of Mazeppa, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
