Darlene "Dar" Rachel Frank, 79 of Mazeppa, died at the Pine Haven Care Center surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 27, 2015, after a courageous battle with ALS.
Dar was born October 9, 1936 in Red Wing, Minnesota to Irving and Rachel (Sibley) Fagerhaug. Dar attended Mazeppa Public Schools. On November 8, 1952, she was united in marriage to Ivan Frank at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa. Together, they raised three children. Dar was a dedicated homemaker when her children were young. After they were in school, she attended cosmetology school to become a beautician, which she did for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mazeppa Ladies Improvement Club, Red Hat Society and American Legion Post #588 Auxiliary.
In her spare time, Dar liked gardening, taking daily walks with her friends, and above all, cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her precious grandkids and great-grandkids. Her hugs and chocolate chip cookies were the best!
Dar is survived by her husband, Ivan Frank; daughter, Merrilee (Doug) Christianson of Mazeppa, daughter, Heather (Blaine) Hentz of Mazeppa, and son, Russell (Deborah) Frank of Mazeppa; grandkids, Shawn (Molly) Hentz, Angela (Andrew) Miller, Nichole (Jason) Farnsworth, Timothy (Emily) Frank, Annalisa (Bryce) Dohrn, and Krystle (Andy) Rude; great-grandkids, Chloe, Mark, Carson, Kara, Alaina, Gabriella, Braxton, Kjersten, Joel, Rylee, and Nathan; step-grandkids, Rebecca Christianson, Eric (MacKenzie) Christianson, Scott (Wendie) Christianson, and Karen Muenkel; step-great-grandkids, Jeric, Norah, Ryley, Aubrey, and Lola.
Dar was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother; and grandson, Mark Muenkel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa on Thursday, December 31, 2015 with Father Joseph Fogal officiating. Visitation will be at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and one hour before the service on Thursday. Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Mazeppa.
