Danny Rae ?Boone? Knowlton, 46 a life long resident of Red Wing area died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at his home. He was born on September 14, 1959 in Red Wing to Franklin and Joan (Ladner) Knowlton. He graduated in 1977 from Red Wing High School and in 1979 completed the Tool and Die program at the Faribault Technical College. On February 21, 1987 he was married to Mary Schmelzer and they later divorced. He was employed by the Red Wing Shoe Company in the maintenance department for eight years, worked for Flueger Construction and Bill?s Distributing and for the past eight years has been employed as a journeyman sprinkler fitter for Grinnell Fire Safety. He was a lifelong member of United Lutheran Church and was also a member of the Red Wing Yacht Club, where he did boathouse and dock maintenance, Red Wing Wildlife League and Duck?s Unlimited. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, his children and grandchildren.Survivors include one daughter, DaniRae Knowlton (Burt) of Wichita, Kan., one son, Trenton Knowlton in the US Army stationed in Baghdad, Iraq; two grandchildren, Suaveh and Savannah in Wichita; his mother, Joan Knowlton of Red Wing; sisters and brothers, Dixie (Jim) Hilton of Hastings, Minn., Bonnie (Kenton) Grams of Hastings, Neb., Debbie Lamm of Los Angeles, Cal., Rick (Deb) Knowlton of Red Wing, Terry Knowlton (fianc‚ Nicole) of Havre, Mont. and Sherry (Alex) Cragoe of Rochester and nine nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Knowlton. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Randall Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gail Dahlberg, Bruce Nehring, Ed Flueger, Paul Ekblad, Kip Edquist and Dennis Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Peterson, Glen Siewert, Doug Mahoney and Ed Ogden. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
