Daniel Dale Kuhl

Daniel Dale Kuhl, 53, of Elk River, died February 21, 2024 at Fairview University in Minneapolis. He was born November 30, 1970 in Red Wing to Dale and Catherine (Bond) Kuhl. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School, class of 1989. He went to work for DBI while he attended night classes at Dunwoody and earned his IT degree. At the time of his passing, he was working for Lakeland Companies as the Vice President of Technology. 

Dan was effortlessly charming and always up for an adventure. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He gave everyone a nickname. He loved to cook and entertain friends with his significant other, Renee. Together, they enjoyed going to concerts, winning local meat raffles, and exploring new pizza places. He tended to be good at anything he attempted, winning bags, darts, and every present wrapping contest. He and Renee kept a flower garden and he often brought home flowers to make sure the house was pretty year-round. He was also a compulsive car cleaner. He truly loved washing his cars. He recently developed a love for bird watching and made sure to keep his many feeders full and the squirrels at bay.  

He will be missed by many, including his significant other, Renee Zierden of Elk River; parents, Dale and Cathy Kuhl of Red Wing; sister, Michelle Meyer of Red Wing; nephews, William and Grant Meyer; Renee’s children, Alix (Caleb), Sydney (Jordan) and Tanner (Taylor); as well as uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. 

He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, other uncles, aunts, and cousins. 

Memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
