Daniel Bushinger, 72, of Red Wing, passed away peacefully in his home with his wife beside him on Sunday, December 15, 2024. He was born May 24, 1952, in St. Paul, Minnesota to George and Rose (Anderson) Bushinger. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, from 1969 until he was honorably discharged in 1971. During his time the service, he earned several combat and service medals, including a Purple Heart. Daniel worked in various jobs throughout his life and was a “jack of all trades” from truck driving to roofing, remodeling and carpentry work. He was a hard worker and enjoyed keeping himself busy. He also worked part-time at Vieth’s Bar, where he enjoyed seeing his many friends. Daniel married Mary Jo Albrecht and the two spent many wonderful years together. In addition to being survived by his wife, he also is survived by 3 children, Troy (Jodi) Bushinger, Tricia Helms and Nicholas Bushinger; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Linell and 2 brothers, Roger and Jimmy Bushinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Tony Bushinger; 9 siblings and a great-grandson.
No services are being held at this time. Daniel’s urn will be interred at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
