Dani D. Hauschildt

Dani Duanne Hauschildt, 51, of Red Wing, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born November 28, 1956 in River Falls, Wisconsin to Duanne and Doris (Hanson) Hauschildt. He graduated in 1975 from Ellsworth High School where he was active in choir. He served in the U.S. Army from February 13, 1976 until being honorably discharged on February 12, 1979. He married Patricia Almsted and they later divorced. He drove truck 21 years for Dedicated Logistics in Roseville and then for Black Horse Carriers of Chicago for the past year. He enjoyed motorcycling, playing guitar and singing, NASCAR and traveling.

He is survived by his fianc?e, Rita Vangsness of Red Wing; daughter, Masi Hauschildt of Red Wing; step-children, Dustin and Jed Almsted of Red Wing; Emma Vangsness of Red Wing; step-mother, Iva Hauschildt of Red Wing; brothers and sisters, Diane (Steve) Horschak of Racine, Wisc.; John (Mary) Hauschildt of River Falls; Duanne (Belinda) Hauschildt of Carroll, Iowa; twin sisters, Kristin (Steve) Ashley of St. Louis, MO and Kathrine Goodwin of Faversham, England and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandparents.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Carol Ann McArdell officiating. Burial will be at Svea Lutheran Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service. Memorials preferred to donor's choice.
