ROCHESTER Dale Krahn, 56, of Rochester, died Thursday (Sept. 2, 2010) at Seasons Hospice, after a lengthy illness with Cancer.
Dale Edward Krahn was born June 18, 1954 in Rochester, to Glenn and Eileen (Schatz) Krahn. He was raised in Rochester, and graduated from Mayo High School in 1973. He worked for the Mayo Clinic in Environmental Services for over twenty years. Dale was an avid car collector and enthusiast, and attended many car shows. He enjoyed collecting and restoring automobiles, including his "51 Henry J". He also collected model cars including many die cast models. He was a member of the Good Guys Car Club and the Kaiser Frasier Auto Club.
Survivors include two sisters, Glennis (Dick) Dickinson of Campbell, CA; and Lori Krahn Bathke of Rochester; two brothers, Bill (Nancy) Krahn; and Gene (Carol) Schatz both of Rochester; nine nieces and nephews; and twenty great nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, his dog Annie. His parents preceded him in death.
At Dale's request there will be no public services. A private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Dale wanted to thank the many special friends and neighbors who meant so much to him over the years.
Memorials are suggested to Mayo or Seasons Hospice, or Paws and Claws.
