David Eric Lindblom

David Eric Lindblom, 78, of Red Wing, died at his home in the Downtown Plaza on Monday, August 5, 2024. He was born July 9, 1946 in Red Wing to Charles and Evelyn (Malm) Lindblom. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School, class of 1964. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving through two tours in Vietman, until his honorable discharge in 1969. On Halloween, 1970 he married Faye Ann Duffing and the couple would raise 4 children. They later divorced. 

David was a jack-of-all-trades and he held many jobs in the Red Wing Area. He retired in 2001 for health reasons but continuted to be a part time antiques dealer. While living in The Plaza, he enjoyed delivering the newspaper. He was a member of the Red Wing Collectors Society, The Phantoms Car Club, and the VFW. 

David was a life long animal rescuer. He loved animals and was happy to provide a home for them. He was also a beekeeper. David processed and sold honey from his six hives. He was an old soul with an appreciation for history and anything antique. He was generous and was always looking out for other people. Most of all, David was a proud Marine. 

He is survived by his children; Troy (Karen), Eric (Crystal), Charlie (Jenn) Lindblom and Ann (Jason) Lundquist; 14 grandchildren, Hunter, Hailie, Jedediah (Cortland), Autumn, Wyatt, Evelyn Lindblom, Alex and Emily Braford, Alyxis, Caitlyn and Cody Lundquist, Jonah and Keira Lindblom and Jameson Heaston; one sister, Kathie Jensen; as well as many friends.

He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Faye; and his parents. 

A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, August 16 at the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post 54 with military honors provided by the All Veterans Color Guard at 3 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
