Mass of Christian Burial for Cyrus A. Reding, age 80, of Bellechester will be at 10:30AM Saturday, June 3, 2006 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Bellechester with Father Bruce Peterson and Father Frank Wampach co-officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary?s Catholic Church Cemetery. Music will be provided by Wanda Schafer, organist, and Monica Dohrn, song leader. The lector will be Larry Miller. Casketbearers will be Thomas Roschen, Alan Van Houten, Donald Yust, John Copley, Steve Copley, Jesse Reding, Adam Friedrich, David Buck and Nicholas Reding. Memorials may be given to St. Mary?s Catholic Church or to the charity on one?s choice. Cyrus Anthony Reding died at home on June 1, 2006. He was born on October 5, 1925 in Goodhue County, MN to Phillip and Gertrude (Musty) Reding. He attended country school in Goodhue County and later farmed and ran a milk truck. Cyrus entered the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He returned to the Goodhue area and was married to Mary Ellen Van Houten on January 24, 1959 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Bellechester. Following their marriage the couple lived in Bellechester where Cyrus did carpentry and woodworking. He was a member of the church and enjoyed farming, fishing, carpentry and woodworking. Cyrus is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen, of Bellechester, MN; four sons: Jeffrey (Kim) Reding, of Lakeville, MN, Mark (Mary) Reding and Randall Reding, of Goodhue, MN, Paul Reding, of Bellechester, MN; one daughter, Jodi Reding, of Goodhue, MN; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Alice Roschen, and one brother, Donald Reding. Visitation will be from 4-8PM on Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. There will be a Scripture Wake service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7PM.
