WANAMINGO ? The funeral for Curtis O. Olson will be 2 p.m. Friday at Stordahl Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Reppe officiating. Burial will be in the Stordahl Lutheran Church Cemetery. Music will be provided by Ruth Reppe, organist, and Carroll ?Bud? Davidson, soloist. Casketbearers are his six sons. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and one hour before the service at the church. Curtis Orville Olson, 94, of Wanamingo, died Tuesday (June 20, 2006) at the Kenyon Sunset Home where he had been for two weeks. He was born March 14, 1912 in Roscoe Township, Goodhue County, to Carl and Othelia (Thoreson) Olson. He was raised on the family farm and attended country schools. On Sept. 26, 1942 he married Jeanette Othelia Hoven at Stordahl Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Wanamingo ? Zumbrota area. He was a long-time Bee Keeper and operated ECCO Honey until he was 70. He retired from farming when he was 78. The couple moved to Wanamingo in October of 1990 and his wife died on Dec. 14, 1990. He was life long member of the Stordahl Lutheran Church where he served on the Church council, was a member of the Roscoe Township Board, and the Sons of Norway, serving as president, state and national board member. He was an avid Twins fan, and enjoyed hunting and reading. Curtis is survived by two daughters Iris Olson of Wananmingo, and Aloyce Rholl of Eagan, MN; six sons Charles (Tudy), and Carrol both of Wanamingo, Curtis, Jr. (Leslie) of Tucson, AZ, Ross (Jenn Life) of Alta, UT, Richard of Eagan, and Roger (Lynne) of Zumbrota; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one brother; and four sisters. Memorials are suggested to Diabetes or Kidney Disease research.
