Curtis George Copley, Jr., 58, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. He was born August 26, 1952 in Zumbrota, to Curtis and Maxine (Iverson) Copley, Sr. His family moved to Red Wing and he attended Red Wing Central High School until enlisting in the US Marines. He married Zelda Barghusen and they live in Red Wing. They had 3 daughters and they later divorced. He was employed at "The Block Shop" for many years and also worked at Braschler's Bakery. He became self-employed as a house painter and for the past 8 years has been at Norwood Promotional Products. For the past 12 years, he has been with his significant other, Laurie Spargur. He was a member of the Redman Club. Curt loved to deer hunt and fish and he loved to be outdoors. He was a handyman and loved to fix things. He also enjoyed music, especially country and oldies and he loved to be with his family and friends.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Kelly Byers, Heidi (Lance) Chapin and Darcy Copley all of Red Wing; 3 grandchildren, Aurora Byers, Jacob Chapin and Devon Copley; his significant other, Laurie Spargur of Red Wing; 6 sisters, Nancy Friermuth of Parris, Texas, Ruth Curry of Ellsworth, Wisc., Diane (Bruce) Banitt of Pine Island, Laura Wolfe of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Nina Blodget of Bruce, Wisc. and Virginia (Otto) Sanders of Red Wing as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, a brother, Jack Dahlstrom; sister, Kathy Dahlstrom and a step-father, Stanley Dahlstrom.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Reverend Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
