Corrine Lenore Johnson

Corrine Lenore Johnson, age 87 of Red Wing, formerly of Hager City, died Friday at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born February 11, 1921 in St. Paul to Emil and Bertha (Lindell) Johnson. She grew up on the family farm in Hager City and attended Wilson School through eighth grade and then graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1939. She worked at Larry's Lunch where she met her husband Stanley Johnson who she married August 29, 1946 at Svea Lutheran Church. They lived on his family farm in Hager City. She later returned to work at Larry's Broiler where she worked for many years until they closed. Stanley died February 4, 1993. She later moved to Red Wing. She was a member of Svea Lutheran Church, where she was part of the ladies aid and quilt sewing group, a homemakers club, birthday club, and volunteered for the 4-H club. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing.
She is survived by two children, Kevin Johnson of Des Moines, IA, and Kathy (Jody) Veek of Elk River; seven grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kim (Darrell) Mattson of Red Wing; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded by husband, Stanley; son, Brad; four siblings, Renee Pearson, Robert Johnson, Ardyce Lohmeyer, and Burt Johnson.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Svea Lutheran Church with Reverend Carol Ann McArdell officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church.
