OBITUARY: Constance Mae Birmingham

Memorial services for Constance Mae Birmingham will be at 11 AM on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Reverend Susan Vikstrom officiating. Cindy Wilson, organist, and Connie Rude, soloist, will provide the music. Honorary casketbearers will be her grandchildren and their spouses. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Catholic Church Cemetery, Zumbrota. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the Zumbro Valley Stroll.

Constance Mae Birmingham, age 85, of Zumbrota, died on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Pine Haven Care Center, Pine Island. She was born on October 16, 1922 in Warren, MN to John and Bertha (Walsvik) Naeseth. At the age of one, she moved to Holden Twnshp., Goodhue Co., MN with her family. She attended country schools and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1941. On December 5, 1948, she married Henry LeRoy Birmingham at Spring Valley, MN. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Zumbrota where Constance candled eggs for Henning Produce and worked as a waitress at Westside Caf?. She was also a scout leader. Henry died on February 9, 1979. She was a member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and crafts.

Constance is survived by her three children: Gary Birmingham, of Remer, MN, Sharon A. Birmingham, and her husband, Nicolino Berardi, and Darel "Butch" (Becky) Birmingham, all of Zumbrota, MN; four grandchildren: Bradley (Mary) Birmingham, of Zumbrota, MN, Mary Birmingham and her husband, Mark Wipperman, of East Aurora, NY, Jane (Peter) Labes, of McKinleyville, CA, Susan (Leo) Brisbois, of Eagan, MN; five great grandchildren: Catherine Birmingham, Paul Manning, Gabriella Brisbois, Kaia Labes and Jonah Labes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, her parents, John and Bertha, and one sister, Lois.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour preceding services at the church on Thursday.
