Colleen Margaret Owen

A funeral mass for Colleen Owen will be held Friday December 26th at 11:00 AM at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Pine Island. The Reverend Tim Dolan will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Island Cemetery. Mrs. Owen, 77, a lifelong resident of Pine Island, died Sunday December 21, 2008 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

Colleen Margaret Friary was born January 7, 1931 in Pine Island. She was graduated from Pine Island High School with the Class of 1949. On July 1, 1950 she married Carl Owen at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Pine Island, where she was a lifelong member. She worked many years in the business office at Pine Haven Care Center, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed cooking, being with her family, reading, fishing, playing cards, and dancing.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Owen of Pine Island; three sons, James (Linda) Owen of Rochester, Paul (Diane) Owen of Mazeppa, and Joel (Nicole) Owen of Pine Island; two daughters, Lori (Bob) Hall of Berne, and Mary (Terry) Seibal of Mesa, Arizona; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry "Ed" and Anne Friary; a brother, Bud Friary, and a great-grandchild, Bailey Unger.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Casketbearers are Dale Friary, Bob Hall, Kent "Shorty" Maxson, Kenny Owen, Terry Seibal and David Shanks.

If so desired, memorials may be directed to the Pine Haven Auxiliary's Hospice Room Fund.
