Colin Bradley Floen, 55, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019. He was born March 16, 1963, in Red Wing, to Robert and Marlis (Baker) Floen and graduated from Red Wing Central High School. He served in the US Navy during the Gulf War and was also in the Reserves for several years. On July 1, 1984, he married Elizabeth Aguiar and they lived in southeastern Massachusetts. They were married 28 years. Colin worked mainly as a purchasing manager for several companies but had spent the majority of his career with Blount Boats. In August of 2016, he moved back to Red Wing. He enjoyed reading, sports, movies and golfing and had a fantastic memory for facts.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Travis) Lexvold of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter, Sloane Lexvold; mother, Marlis Floen of Red Wing; brother, Kevin (Sandy) Floen of Royal Oak, MI; sister, Tara Floen of Red Wing; former wife, Elizabeth Floen of Tiverton, RI and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert and one sister, Kim Floen.
A celebration of Colin's life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019 at the Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54 in Red Wing. The family asks that you respectfully refrain from wearing any fragrances. Burial will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
