Clinton James Henry, 86, of Red Wing, died Thursday at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. He was born July 20, 1922 in Elko, Minnesota to Clifford and Jessie (Anderson) Henry and attended schools in Elko, Dundas and Northfield before graduating in 1940 from Red Wing Central High School. He joined the National Guard Army and served during WW II and the Korean War. He served as the Commander of Company B, 135th Infantry Unit from 1955-1963. He married Kathryn Hall on April 6, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. He bought Pomerleau Electric in 1959 and worked as an electrical contractor, until his retirement in 1985. He was an avid golfer and had been a member of the Red Wing Golf Club. He also belonged to the Leo C. Peterson American Legion # 54 and the Burnson-Lillyblad VFW #1218 and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Cherre (Ed) Pohl of Red Wing; his cat, Larry; a sister, Gloria (David) Hillman of Sandford, NC and a brother, Glen Henry of Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn, a brother, Phillip and his parents.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Loren Lucht officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home is handling arrangements
