Clifford Alden Ritter, age 87, of Oronoco died on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday October 2, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco with the Reverend Paul Baldauf officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Oronoco Cemetery.

Clifford Alden Ritter was born on December 2, 1922 in Oronoco to William and Julia (Baker) Ritter. He graduated from Pine Island High School. After graduating from high school Clifford continued to work on the family farm; stewardship of the land was very important to him. On September 27, 1947 he married Doris Adler at Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco. Together the couple lived and worked the land of what was to become a century farm.

Clifford was a man of God and community. He enjoyed helping his neighbors and choosing and cutting wood from the trees on his farm. He also chose and cut the wood that he later used to build his home. Clifford looked forward to Friday night card parties and he was member of the Coon Grove Card Club. Clifford was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco, serving on the church council.

Clifford is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris, of Pine Island; his daughter, Diane (Michael) Lien, of Faribault and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Julia; and his brother Everett Ritter.
