Clifford Eugene Haroldson

May 4, 1933 — December 24, 2013

Clifford Eugene Haroldson, age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Tuesday, December 24th, 2013. Cliff was born on May 4th, 1933 in Minneota, Minnesota to Ragner and Alice (Solberg) Haroldson. He graduated from Lamberton High School in 1951. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served in the Korean War (1951-1955). Cliff's sister-in-law introduced him to his wife Lois, whom he married on January 19, 1957. For thirty-nine years, Cliff worked at Northwestern Bell, retiring in 1989 as manager of the Red Wing office. He was involved in the Red Wing Kiwanis Club, the Elks Club #845, the Leo C. Peterson #54 American Legion, the Church of Saint Joseph, and he served as an Ambassador to the Chamber of Commerce. Cliff was an avid gardener, golfer, fisherman, hunter, and bird watcher. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed volunteering with the Red Wing Food Shelf. In his later years, he became CEO of the "Who Cares" Club.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Lois; his children Kurt of New Ulm, Judy (Bob) of Maine, Bruce (Jodi) of Saint Louis Park, Brian (Kim) of New Ulm, and Kim (Terry) of Red Wing; twelve grandchildren, Ross, Emily, Aaron, Andy, Erik, Annika, Cassiar (Andrew), Justice, Chantrelle, Jeremiah (Ashley), Amethyst, and Jasper; two great grandchildren, Braydon and Mckinley; and his brother, Arliss (Bernice). He was preceded in death by his parents, Ragner and Alice, and his sister Debra.
A Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 4 at the Church of St. Joseph (7th and North Park St, Red Wing, MN, 55066) with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery with military honors by the Leo C. Peterson American Legion, Post 54. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
