Clayton L. Larson, 83, of Red Wing, Minnesota, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at his home. He was born October 11, 1925, in Swedona, Illinois to Carl and Nina (Francine) Larson. He served in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corp. during World War II. Clayton graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science. On June 1, 1949 he was married to Rose Crady. They owned and operated Larson Funeral Home for 33 years in Abingdon, Illinois, where he also ran the ambulance service in the area. He was a member of First Covenant Church in Red Wing.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; three sons, Larry (Laureen), Scott, and Bradley P. Larson; grandchildren, Sara Larson, Elizabeth Tapper, Amanda Larson, Bradley J. (Jerilyn) Larson, and Thomas Larson; great grandchildren, Autumn and Alexis Larson; brother, Richard Larson, and sister, Helen Peterson. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Donald Larson.
Private services will be held. Memorials are preferred to Fairview Red Wing Hospice.
