Claudine H. Sellers

Claudine H. Sellers, 70, of the Prairie Island Indian Community, Welch, MN peacefully began her journey home on Monday, February 2, 2015. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 24, 1944 to Lorenzo and Lucille (Campbell) Childs and raised on the Prairie Island Indian Community. She graduated from Brainerd Indian School in Hot Springs, SD and moved to the San Francisco bay area. Claudine married Wilbur Sellers and together they had three beautiful daughters: Dawn (John) Zeedyk, Christine (Jose) Sellers, and Catherine (Christopher) Zenner. The couple later divorced. Claudine's pride and joy were her grandchildren: Sheryl, Valentina, Marisa, TJ, Arthur, Roberta, Christian, and MiAngel and her great-grandchildren: Inocencia, Ella, Armondo, Jr, Aliyah, Chaske, Jason, Emberleigh, Harlee, Wicahpi To Win, and Hepan. She has three surviving siblings, Ramona Jones, Reta Childs and Alan Childs. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; and four siblings, Christine Childs, Dale Childs, Dennis Childs, and Michael Childs, Sr. Those who remain celebrate her life and legacy.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Prairie Island Community Center. Burial will follow at the community cemetery. A visitation for Claudine will begin 1 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 and continue through Monday. On Saturday, there will be bingo at 2 p.m. and a short service at 5 p.m. followed by dinner. On Sunday, there will be brunch at 11 a.m., bingo at 1 p.m., and another service at 5 p.m. followed by dinner. Arrangements are by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
